BECOMING A REFEREE
If you are interested in becoming a soccer referee, you will need to complete a certification course before you can begin. Go to www.njrefs.com to find a course near you.
If you are 13 years old or older, you should take the Grassroots level referee course. Ideally, you should start out as referee for Recreational level soccer. Later then, if you wish, progress through experience to youth travel games. Keep in mind that priority must go to Monroe residents when being assigned rec level games in Monroe.
Contact the recreation referee coordinator as soon as you complete the course at [email protected] for further information about what else you need to do to get assigned games.
If you are a little older and want to go right to travel games, you are able to do that as well, but you still must take the same Grassroots referee training course first.
