TOURNAMENT RULE MODIFICATION

Due to a discrepancy we found in the rules, we modified the Points, Standings and Tie Breaker rules found on page 2 & 3.  The modification states that for all U11 and older teams, all tie games will go to a shootout.

25th Annual Monroe Spring Kickoff Tournament

Welcome to the Monroe Township Soccer Club 25th Annual Spring Kickoff Classic. The event will take place Saturday, April 26, 2014 (rain date: May 3, 2014) U8-U10 will play two 50 minute games. First and Second place awards for all U11 and older teams. Three crew referee system for ALL games.

U8-U11 (8v8 - Small-Sided Fields) - 2 Games - 50 Mins
U11-U19 (11v11 - Full Sided Fields) - 2 Games - 50 Mins

All games will be played at Thompson Park and the Monroe Soccer Complex (MSC, formerly Prospect Plains).

CHECK-IN:  It is strongly recommended and preferred that all teams check-in and register on Friday evening, April 25, from 5-9pm at the Monroe Community Center, 120 Monmouth Road, Monroe Twp, NJ 08831.  Registration will be in Room 109. 

Required Documents (no exceptions):

  • Official stamped Roster & 1 copy (for MTSC to keep)
  • Game Roster (found here: http://www.monroesoccer.com/tournament/512894.html )
  • Player passes (including guest players)
  • Medical Release forms for all players
  • Permission to Travel (for Out of State teams)

There will be limited availabililty for registration on Saturday for teams that cannot check-in on Friday evening.  Saturday check-in is available at the Main Tent in THOMPSON PARK ONLY from 7am - 1pm.  Teams MUST arrive at least 1 hour prior to their first game to check-in, and teams that are scheduled to play at the Monroe Soccer Complex (MSC, formerly Prospect Plains) should allow at least 1 1/2 hours prior to game time.  Again, there is NO CHECK-IN AT MSC.

PARKING at both locations will be limited, so please plan on carpooling if at all possible.  Please note that the High School parking lot will NOT be available for at least the first half of the day due to a school event.

Food Drive:  As in years past, the Monroe Township Soccer Club will be collecting non-perishable food items to be donated to a local food pantry.  Please drop off items at the Main Tent in either park.  Thank you in advance for your support.

MTSC is also running a raffle fundraiser to benefit Mikey Nichols, a Monroe Twp High School hockey player who suffered a spinal cord injury in January.  We will be raffling off some exciting items at both locations.  Tickets can be purchased in the Apparel tent at both parks.  Winners do not need to be present to win.  For more information about Mikey and other fundraisers to support his care, please go to http://www.mikeystrong23.org/

Thank you for your support and participation in our tournament.  We're looking forward to a beautiful day of great soccer and fun activities.  We ask that all players, coaches and parents remember S.A.G.E. (Set A Good Example) while enjoying their day in Monroe.

Tournament Information

Full sided teams will play two 50 minute games with awards for first and second place in each flight. (U11-19)

Small sided teams will play two 50 minute games with all teams recieving participation medals. (U8-U11)

All teams are encourange to bring patches to exchange at the end of each match.

 

Tournament Activities

In addition to the normal games we again will be hosted a food drive for the local food bank.
